Sebastian Vettel says ‘I have excellent memories” from the Singapore Grand Prix, as the Ferrari star is the most successful driver at Marina Bay Circuit with four wins out of the first eight editions of Formula One's night race.

Vettel tasted victory in 2011, 2012, and 2013 for Red Bull and added a fourth personal success with Ferrari last year.

The German was a dominant force all weekend 12 months ago, leading from pole all the way to the chequered flag.

“I have excellent memories from previous years in Singapore,” Vettel said. “I was able to win there [several] times in the past”

“It’s quite tricky a Grand Prix. It happens at night and it’s quite different from what you see around the track to make up your reference points. The track is very rough, bumpy, long, with long-lasting laps. So, you need to stay focused for a long time.”

Vettel echoes the sentiments expressed by his fellow drivers about the Marina Bay experience, as he highlights the physical challenge but also the uniqueness of the event.

“It’s usually quite hot and humid. So it’s a hard work inside the car, but I think it’s something we all enjoy. We try to stay in the European time, which is quite funny because we stay up very late and wake up in the middle of the day. So, it’s a bit special for all the drivers and all the teams to operate.”

Vettel's 2015 Singapore Grand Prix victory was the third in his debut season at Ferrari, but the Scuderia has yet to return to winning ways since then.
