Wringing every drop of performance out of a Ferrari lacking top-speed muscle, Leclerc temporarily led and secured a superb runner-up spot. However, i hindsight he was probably lucky to escape the wrath of the stewards following his high-speed skirmish at les Combes with Piastri.
Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes (P1) – 9.5/10
A triumph of supreme composure. Lost out under the VSC, but stayed calm, hunted down Leclerc on track, and reasserted his dominance. Absorbed heavy pressure from Verstappen early on and managed his energy state to perfection. A champion’s drive in every sense.
