Trudged around the back in virtual anonymity alongside his teammate before a failing gearbox mercifully put him out of his misery. Between severe ERS deployment woes and an uncooperative chassis, Stroll never looked capable of dragging the car beyond its basement-level floor.
Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (P19) – 4/10
Treating a Formula 1 Grand Prix as a glorified test session is rarely fun, but that was Alonso’s fate in Spa. Trapped in a draggy, uncompetitive car, the Spaniard stoically logged laps to collect data for upcoming updates. Professional, yes, but painfully invisible.
