Max Verstappen, Red Bull (DNF) – 3.5/10
The home hero’s Zandvoort send-off turned into an unmitigated disaster on the very first lap. After getting into a scrappy scrap with team-mate Lawson through Turn1, Max put a wheel on the still damp white line on the banked final corner, snapped into the outside wall, and ripped off his suspension. Unhurt, thankfully, but thoroughly embarrassed in front of his orange army. A very rare misjudgment by the Red Bull charger.

Oliver Bearman, Haas (DNF) – 4/10
Bearman spent his brief afternoon wandering around the back of the grid after qualifying a miserable 20th. His VF-26 mercifully threw in the towel shortly after the restart following the early red flag. More worringly, Haas looks like a sinking ship that not even a bucket and a prayer can save at the moment.
