TORO ROSSO FRAGMENTS
Almost unnoticed, the new aerodynamic package brought by Toro Rosso in Austria was nevertheless consistent.
The curved base of the front wing endplate was serrated: the single element was subdivided into three elements (yellow arrows). One can see here further evidence of Mercedes’ segmentation philosophy whereby teams seek to control airflows tightly by multiplying the number of cuts and elements.
The upper sections have been slightly re-designed in the area where they descend and where the Y250 vortex is generated (red arrows).
lightly redesigned in the section where they dive, where the vortex Y250 (red arrows) is generated.
CLEAR DIVISION
The turning vanes have been more clearly segmented, so that the three elements are now clearly divided while they were connected by their base in the previous version (see the yellow arrows).
THE BULL SPREADS ITS WINGS
And finally, two winglets were added to the rear crash structure of the cars of Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley.
