Many drivers damaged their front wings while driving on the particularly high kerbs of the Red Bull Ring.

In the picture above, we note the carbon torn off the Stoffel Vandoorne's wing, as well as the underlying metal structure. His teammate Fernando Alonso had to change his nose after breaking his wing at the end of Q2. As this was another specification replaced under the "parc fermé" rules, he had to start from the pitlane, in accordance with article 34.6 of the sporting regulations.
