Romain Grosjean is hoping that a deal will soon be struck between Renault and Genii Capital for the buy-out of Lotus F1.
The French driver was a happy camper after Spa last Sunday, having achieved a surprising but well deserved podium finish on the back of a faultless and impressive drive.
While the team's cars and equipment remain impounded in Belgium, pending a resolution of a financial conflict brought about by former Lotus reserve driver Charles Pic, Grosjean has been enjoying the moment, although uncertainties remain regarding the team's immediate future.
"It's not an easy situation," Grosjean told French broadcaster Canal+. "I said in Hungary that the team was for sale, and when a team is for sale, its owners won't make any investments."
"We are therefore in a waiting period, which is difficult for everyone. But on the other hand, if Renault takes over - and we're crossing our fingers this happens - it could lead to a great story and adventure."
Questioned at Spa on Renault's commitment and time frame, company Ambassador Alain Prost stated that a decision would intervene sometime in September.
