Jérôme Stoll will hand over the reins of Renault Sport to Thierry Koskas on January 1, 2019, as the French manufacturer strengthens its commitment to Formula 1.
Koskas will report directly to the company's group chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn, and will work to 'bring the team to the highest level of the discipline' and 'ensure that Formula 1's contribution to Renault's brand awareness worldwide is strengthened".
The French manager has worked for Renault since 1997 and became executive vice-president of sales and marketing at the start of 2016.
Stoll, who has worked for Renault since 1980, has been at the helm of Renault Sport since 2016, when the company returned to F1 as a works outfit after its buy-out of Lotus at the end of 2015.
With a retirement in the cards as Stoll reaches 65 in 2019, the change is likely destined to ensure a continuity at Renault Sport as its five-year plan in F1 continues to unfold.
Renault Sport F1 boss Cyril Abiteboul remains in charge of the manufacturer's overall efforts in Grand Prix racing, overseeing the work of both the Enstone and Viry-Châtillon chassis and engine units.
