Max Verstappen's ambitions in Formula 1 are centered around the conquering of triumphs and multiple world championship titles rather than achieving success with any team in particular.
As the hottest property in Grand Prix racing yet to race for a top team, the Dutch prodigy has been linked with both Mercedes and Ferrari, although for the near future he remains firmly enclosed in the Red Bull stable.
The 18-year-old appears fixated on the destiny however rather than the team with which he would achieve his targeted success.
"My ultimate dream is just to become world champion, and not only once" Verstappen told Sky Sports news HQ. "So that's my dream and it doesn't matter with which team it is."
Verstappen will once again race with Toro Rosso in 2016, alongside fellow gifted hopeful Carlos Sainz, while his current contract with Red Bull extends to 2018.
"It's good to do another year here and to learn a lot again because you never stop learning. I still have a long way ahead and am still very young, so I don't mind to stay here another year."
As a token of his ambition, Verstappen admitted that he didn't focus on performing as the best F1 rookie in 2015, choosing instead to measure himself up with the best drivers on the grid.
"To be honest, I never compare myself with the rookies. It's not really a championship, but definitely it's always nice to be on top of it and to score the most points.
"But you want to compare yourself with the best of the best and that's definitely the more experienced guys."
Verstappen's incredible rise through the ranks saw him enter Formula 1 at the record-breaking age of 17 years old, but Max's maturity and outstanding composure from the outset were even more impressive, and hint at a scintillating future amongst the all-time greats of Grand Prix racing.
Speaking of his maiden F1 season, the junior bull admits results surpassed expectations as the year concluded with an overwhelming feel of satisfaction.
"I enjoyed it a lot. Some good overtaking, which is what I like. Some good points scores and two fourth positions, which are the highlight.
