FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is mourning the loss of his son Saif who was killed in a road car accident in Dubai.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, with the Emirates Automobile Federation confirming the terrible news and the passing of Saif Ben Sulayem.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem and his family have requested privacy at this time, while a mourning schedule in the Emirates has been announced as per Islamic traditions.
Like his father, Saif was impassioned with cars and racing, and had even embarked on a career as a driver when he competed in the 2016-2017 UAE Formula 4 Championship, a series that also featured current F1 rookies Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant.
However, he eventually reined in his international racing ambitions and opted to remain in the Middle East.
