Stirling Moss took victory in the first - and only - Pescara Grand Prix on this day in 1957. The race was added to the calendar as the penultimate round following the cancellation of races in Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands, and formed a pair of races in Italy at the end of the season. Moss would win in his Vanwall on the 16-mile circuit - the longest in F1 history - but Juan Manuel Fangio had already secured the drivers' championship.
