Hamilton Texas two-stepped Mercedes to a fourth consecutive Constructor’s title and can sew up his fourth Driver’s crown as early as this weekend down Mexico way. With a lightning start, Vettel made it interesting for a while, but the Scuderia’s hopes are fading into the sunset. Verstappen exceeded the track limits, but losing a podium finish didn’t sit well with the Driver of the Day. F1i rates and reviews the action from Austin.
Nico Hülkenberg (retired) : No Score
It was another difficult outing for the German in Texas. With a 20-place grid penalty awaiting him on Sunday, Nico sat out Q2 to save an extra fresh set of rubber for the race. Sadly, he never got the chance to slap on the set when a loss of oil pressure compromised his race, while new boy Sainz stole the show.
