This weekend saw the second Sprint race of the season on the bounce, and an unusual spectacle: Max Verstappen and Red Bull not at their best. Even so, they calmly clinched Saturday's win and it looked like Sunday would be another one in the bag, right up to the moment when it wasn't. For once, there's no question about our top driver rating - and it's not Verstappen!

Logan Sargeant (Accident, Lap 27): 6/10
Logan Sargeant always attracts huge criticism everytime he ends up in the wall. We can't imagine why. But to be serious, this time it wasn't his fault that he crashed out halfway through the Grand Prix - that's all on Magnussen. Sargeant actually had a perfectly solid time in the first of three home events for the American and deserved better than this early exit, even though his retirement was the pivotal moment of the entire race. Lando Norris owes him a beer.

Alexander Albon (P19): 5.5/10
This season is just not happening for Williams, or for Alex Albon who started the year looking like he had a chance of being in the running to take over Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes seat. But so far he's been anonymous, even faltering when it comes to making the Q2 appearances that used to be his bread and butter. Out-qualified (for the Sprint) for the first time by his team mate, Albon battled away in the midfield but then locked up in turn 11 late in the race and dropped to the back as a result. Sadly it seemed entirely in keeping with the general tone of his season so far.
