Valtteri Bottas (P16): 5.5/10
Still no points in 2024 for Valtteri Bottas, and he looks no closer to getting them any time soon. He was resolutely stuck in the bottom five in practice and both qualifying sessions, missing the cut in both first rounds as a consequence. That compromised any hopes he might have had in the races that followed even before he lost places at the start of Sunday's race despite being on the soft compound. He trundled round, put in the laps, punched the clock and picked up the pay cheque, but other than that there wasn't a lot in it for the Finn in Miami this weekend.
Daniel Ricciardo (P15, 5 pts): 7/10
So which Daniel Ricciardo should we be rating here? The impressive, right-back-on-form version that secured fourth place on the Sprint grid and kept hold of it brilliantly in the 19-lap race? That was a reminder of how the Aussie used to be in his heyday. And then it came the Grand Prix where a dire qualifying session combined with a three place grid penalty held over from China meant he started at the back of the grid. There are some types of tracks and races from which it's possible to recover from that, but Miami International Autodrome isn't one of them. We'll be kind to Danny Ric and weight his ratings more toward the Sprint side of things.
