F1i Driver Ratings for the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix

Oscar Piastri, McLaren – 9/10

Piastri did everything right. He grabbed the lead at the start and looked in total control until the Safety Car flipped the script. It’s hard to say if he would have been in contention for a win had Antonelli not lucked in to "cheap" pit stop under the SC. But holding off the Ferraris and Russell to secure P2 was a statement of intent. The win is coming.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes – 9.5/10

Is it luck or destiny? A poor start – wait, a dismal start – looked to have ended his hopes, but the Safety Car timing was a gift from above. However, you still have to deliver, and a 14-second margin of victory is pure dominance. Back-to-back wins for the teenager – the hype train has officially left the station.
