F1i Driver Ratings for the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari – 6/10

A confusing afternoon for the seven-time champ. He gained a podium spot via the Safety Car but then went backward at an alarming rate. Lacking the pace of Leclerc and Norris, he looked a passenger in his own car. To finish sixth after restarting third was a bitter pill to swallow.

Lando Norris, McLaren – 8/10

Lando played the long game. After a quiet middle stint, he came alive in the closing stages, hunting down and eventually dispatching Hamilton’s Ferrari. He’s showing a new level of maturity, knowing exactly when to burn his tyres to move up the order. A solid P5 but the reigning world champion was also outpaced all weekend by his McLaren teammate.
