George Russell, Mercedes (P12) – 3/10
For a self-proclaimed title protagonist, this was not a good weekend by any standards. Qualifying sixth in a front-running car at Monaco is bad enough, but getting lapped by your teenage teammate is a disaster. Throwing two penalties into the mix - even if the drive-through was a team error - proves Russell is completely lost at sea right now. The good news? He knows it.

Gabriel Bortoleto, Kick Sauber (P11) – 5/10
Bortoleto was dead in the water before the race even started, with a pitlane launch forced by his car shutting down on the grid laps. Trapped at the back on a track where overtaking is impossible, he was a passenger. His post-race claims of "great pace" carry zero weight when you qualify at the back.
