Carlos Sainz, Williams (P12) – 7.5/10
Sainz dragged a fundamentally slow Williams package to the absolute limit in front of his home crowd. Starting 16th, he drove a flawless, gritty race to flirt with the fringes of the top ten. He didn't make the highlight reel, but extracting that maximum performance from a difficult car is exactly what Williams needed.

Gabriel Bortoleto, Audi (P11) – 5/10
A classic case of what could have been. A poor launch compromised his afternoon immediately, forcing him into a series of overly aggressive recovery moves. Early floor damage from a minor skirmish hampered his aerodynamic balance for the rest of the day, leaving him just short of adding to his Melbourne points tally.
