George Russell, Mercedes (P2) – 7.5/10
Russell led at the outset but was eventually overhauled by Hamilton and his teammate as he struggled to match both of the latter on the harder compounds. He actually lost second place on track to a charging Antonelli before the rookie's engine failed. Holding off Norris to secure a Mercedes 1-2 is a good result, but he was definitively the second-fastest silver car.

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes (P1) – 10/10
An absolute vintage masterclass from the seven-time world champion. Hamilton sounded rejuvenated on the radio, driving with an aggressive urgency that we haven't seen in years. Ferrari's bold three-stop strategy worked beautifully, and even with a bit of VSC luck, his pace was undeniable. The belief is well and truly back. Forza Luigi!
