Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (P8) – 4.5/10
A front-row start promised so much, but Leclerc’s race rapidly melted away under the scorching Austrian sun. Horrific rear tyre thermal degradation left him entirely defenceless against attackers, destroying Ferrari's competitive ambitions. To make matters worse, he picked up a black mark for a clumsy, desperate collision with Oscar Piastri at a corner where the position was already completely lost.

Lando Norris, McLaren (P7) – 5.5/10
A frustratingly stagnant day for Norris, who never looked like a factor after the opening laps. While he kept it clean in the sweltering heat, watching his teammate rocket up to fourth from further back leaves Lando with zero hiding places. He blamed a tricky car balance, but the sister garage proved there was more pace available.
