Daniil Kvyat has escaped punishment after failing a floor deflection test after qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.
On his final run in Q3 Kvyat lost a lot of time in the final sector and after the session claimed something was broken on his car. The Russian said he had hit a kerb at the Swimming Pool section, which could have contributed to the loss of performance.
Following the end of qualifying, the FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer reported Kvyat's car to the stewards after it failed a front floor deflection test, with exclusion from the session a possibility. However, the stewards decided to take no further action after hearing an explanation from the team.
"The team produced evidence that the car suffered an impact which reduced the downforce and resulted with a slower lap time than in Q2," the stewards decision read.
"Therefore whilst technically the car failed to pass the deflection test, the stewards have decided not to impose any penalty. However the team is reminded that further tests will be conducted and that future failure of the test may not result in the same decision.
"The FIA technical team is requested to further study the telemetry produced by the team and provide a report to the Stewards if appropriate."
