His first farewell to his countrymen last year ended in a crash and a long, rainy walk back to the pits. This time it was bright skies and six points. He put in a decent effort in Q3, slotting in behind the Renaults and Alonso. He gained positions in the hectic opening lap and then held on to move ahead of team mate Stroll in the points table. Post-race he received a heart-warming radio message from son Felipino, in English!
