Gradually and oh so discreetly, the Saubers have closed the gap to the lower mid-field tier, and on Saturday Wehrlein was less than a second from Q2. For most of Sunday, the German had his team mate’s number, but with less than stellar pace, Pascal had to make a stop late in the going, which dropped him behind Ericsson.
