2015 F1 season: F1i’s teams review

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Brazilian Grand Prix - Race Day - Sao Paulo, Brazil

Manor - 6/10

12 months ago it would have taken a very brave man to bet on Manor returning to the grid. The former Marussia team failed to race in the final three rounds of 2014 and its assets were already being auctioned off after it entered administration when it was saved even later than the 11th hour.

Having to adapt its car to fit the 2015 regulations in a matter of weeks, the team was never going to be ready for Australia but showed up anyway with its two drivers, and at the next race in Malaysia it was able to run one car at a time. Will Stevens failed to race but from there on the car ran reliably and the team actually made progress.

Manor was running a year-old Ferrari power unit but was never in danger of qualifying outside the 107% regulation and even managed to bring some updates to the car as it continued to rebuild. Sadly, the men who have fought for the team over the past six years - John Booth and Graeme Lowdon - left at the end of the season but they did a remarkable job to keep the team alive.
