Valtteri Bottas, Cadillac (P16) – 3/10
A thoroughly miserable outing for Bottas, who looked second-best to teammate Perez all weekend. Another victim of the silly intermediate tyre gamble, he found himself lapped just ten laps into the Grand Prix. Trapped in a vicious cycle of blue flags and car issues, he spent the afternoon trundling around anonymously to finish four laps down.

Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (P15) – 4/10
A dismal homecoming for Stroll in Montreal. He radioed warnings about a severe lack of grip before the lights even went out, and his prophecies were proven right. Trapped in a sluggish Aston Martin on a slippery track surface, he lacked any real pace to mount a charge. The only positive was banking data once again across a full race distance.
