Oliver Bearman, Haas (P14) – 6/10
Bearman was a victim of his pit wall's obstinacy. Overruled on his choice of starting tyres, he was forced onto slicks in the wet, burning through an agonizing first stint before pitting to fix the error. Pitted 40 seconds behind the midfield pack, Bearman put his head down, displayed strong lap times, and picked off Alpine, but his ceiling was ruined by strategy.

Franco Colapinto, Alpine (P13) – 5.5/10
Starting from the back of the grid after penalties, Colapinto gambled on slick tyres that left him sliding around like he was on ice for the first four laps. Once the circuit dried out, the young Argentine showed impressive racecraft on the hard compound, pulling off several gritty passes. A mature recovery effort after a compromised opening strategy.
