Like Monza, Spa is not a circuit suited for the Toro Rosso. Sainz was nearly certain to leave Belgium empty-handed, especially after qualifying where he went no further than Q2. But the Spaniard clung to the group trailing behind the leaders, and while the safety car didn’t help his cause, he can thank Martin and Lewis, sorry Pérez and Ocon, whose gaffs allowed him to pick up a point.
