Carlos Sainz - DNF: 8/10
A cruel end to a testing weekend for Sainz, who had battled his way in to the points having started last on the grid. His big crash at Turn 13 in FP3 could have been unnerving but he was desperate to race and proceeded to show strong pace as he worked his way in to the top ten having also stopped under the safety car. A brake problem manifested itself 20 laps from the end but he was holding on until a spin in the final ten laps was followed by him spinning in to the wall somewhat ironically - and fortunately not heavily - at Turn 13.
