While his team mate seemed lost throughout the weekend, the ‘Gas Man’ ringed every bit of performance out of his Toro Rosso on a circuit where Honda’s power deficiency isn’t a huge burden. He earned his spot in the Top Ten shootout, and in the race he made his tyres last to overtake Sainz in the pits, be a bit of bother to Alonso, menace Ocon and keep the Hulk at bay. Pierre’s stock is soaring.
