A turning point in Hamilton's season despite his form, victory at Silverstone came in a thrilling race which hinged on his decision to pit as heavier rain fell late on. Rosberg had been closing in quickly but Hamilton timed the pit call perfectly and held on to complete another hat-trick of pole, fastest lap and race win.
