If Silverstone was one of Hamilton's best results, Hungary was one of his luckiest. Ferrari posed a real threat despite another pole position, and when Hamilton dropped to fourth at the start he then made an error with a bad move on Rosberg and dropped well down the order. Recovering to the top ten in a chaotic race, Hamilton was set to see his championship lead erased before Rosberg collided with Daniel Ricciardo which allowed the Briton to actually extend his advantage.
