With misfortune striking Rosberg in Italy, it was Hamilton's turn to retire at the end of a bizarre Singapore Grand Prix weekend. Mercedes was comfortably off the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull - ensuring Hamilton wasn't on pole for just the second time this season - but he was due to limit the damage with fourth place before a turbo boost leak saw him retire. Vettel took his third win to remain in the frame, but Rosberg could only reduce the championship leader's advantage by 12 points.
