Oscar Piastri, McLaren (P2) 9/10
The Hungaroring is a notoriously tricky track to overtake on, and Piastri definitely felt the force of this fact in the Grand Prix. He was stuck behind Leclerc for a number of laps despite having the quicker package beneath him, which allowed teammate Norris to make amends for a poor getaway. In the end however it was the decision to go for a two-stop strategy as opposed to a one-stop that cost Piastri the win, although this was only the wrong choice in hindsight.

Lando Norris, McLaren (P1) 10/10
The McLaren duo really pushed each other to the maximum of their own abilities, but it was Norris who got the better of Piastri in Hungary. And things looked dead in the water for the British driver after the first few laps, as he lost two positions in the opening few corners and was stuck behind Russell until the first pitstops. With nothing to lose Norris opted for the one-stop strategy, pushing a set of hard tyres from lap 32 to the end of the Grand Prix. It was a bold decision but one that paid off massively, as the rest of his competitors went for the two-stop. Despite having much older tyres than his teammate, the Briton kept a cool head and put in solid lap times to keep a faster Piastri behind to the tune of 0.698 seconds. A well-deserved win.
