F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (P4) 8/10

Bad luck plagued Leclerc’s Sunday yet again, as he failed to convert pole position into victory for the third race in succession. It started off strongly for the Monegasque driver, who looked comfortable out front and stretched his lead over second-placed Piastri to over three seconds by lap 14. His Grand Prix chances came crashing down around the halfway stage of the race, when the chassis of his SF-25 encountered a significant issue which resulted in a large performance drop. Norris and Piastri eased past just a handful of laps later, and Russell muscled his way through up the inside of Turn 1 on lap 63 despite Leclerc’s questionable defence. To add to the Ferrari driver’s misery, he received a five second penalty for his erratic driving.

George Russell, Mercedes (P3) 8/10

Many times this season, Russell has been in a league of his own on Sunday, running behind the McLaren duo while streaking well ahead of the rest of the competition. This is somewhat how things panned out for the Briton in Hungary, except he had to contend with a stricken Leclerc in the closing stages of the Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver moved under braking and nearly clattered into the side of Russell’s Mercedes with a few laps to go, but the latter got through unscathed to secure a sixth podium of the season.
