Made a very good start but it meant he was up in the gaggle of cars that collided at Turn 2, being launched in to the air momentarily by Ericsson’s Sauber as the pair touched wheels having been hit by Gutierrez and Hulkenberg. Had looked good this weekend, pushing Wehrlein close in qualifying. A shame he couldn’t show his race pace but starting to find his feet.
