F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix

Lando Norris, McLaren (P2): 8/10

All of the great work that Norris put in to qualify on pole position was quickly undone at the very first corner, where he had two wild snaps of oversteer which allowed teammate Piastri to streak past down the Kemmel straight and before Turn 5. An unorthodox strategy to put on the hard tyres almost worked as Piastri’s tyres started to fade in the final few laps, but several little mistakes, including two lockups at the La Source hairpin and a wide moment at Pouhon corner prevented the Briton from mounting a challenge for the lead in the end.

Oscar Piastri, McLaren (P1): 10/10

Where his teammate faltered, Piastri didn’t put a foot wrong to extend his lead in the Drivers’ Standings to 16 points. In the end it was a relatively stress-free race for the Australian, who snatched the lead from Norris on the opening lap and barely had to look in the mirrors from that point onwards. It seemed as though we might see a last-gasp battle for the lead as Norris closed in on his McLaren teammate in the last laps, but Piastri kept his medium tyres in better condition than anyone else on track to finish ahead by over three seconds.
