Nico Hulkenberg, Kick Sauber (P12): 5/10
An inexplicable decision to come into the pits twice cost Hulkenberg a points-scoring result at Spa. It was all going so well for the German, who benefitted off of an early pitstop for slick tyres and moved into the top ten. He looked set to remain in tenth but was strangely called into the pits for a second time for fresh rubber, falling to P14. He almost made it back into the points with some solid driving but it was too big of an ask for the recent podium-sitter.

Oliver Bearman, Haas (P11): 5/10
Bearman now shares an unenviable record of having the most consecutive Grand Prix finishes in the same position (that isn’t first place). He crossed the line in 11th position for the fourth GP in a row. He also passed his teammate Ocon for P11 on lap 11, so seems to have a strange affinity with the number. Anyway, the young Briton endured a frustrating race, which he spent stuck in a DRS train with no opportunities to get past slower competitors. A successful move on Tsunoda on the penultimate lap still wasn’t enough for points.
