With a new and more powerful Mercedes power unit Lewis was a cut above in every single session. Not that he needed any assistance, but Vettel’s harpooning of Bottas at Turn 1 all but assured a positive outcome for Ham. From there he just had to keep Verstappen behind him for a comfortable win. His victory at the 26th different race circuit sees the Briton jump to the top of the world championship standings.
