Fernando came back down to Earth after his Le Mans triumph. The McLaren is just too slow, but he did go quicker than his team mate in Q1, a feat he underlined. On Sunday, he came in at the end of the opening lap to switch to the soft compound before a contact with Vettel. After another stop for fresh rubber, Alonso clocked a decent 6th best race lap-before encountering a suspension issue and finishing 3 laps down.
