In dry conditions the team's RB14 had no chance of challenging Ferrari and Mercedes, but everyone in the squad had to be kicking themselves after qualifying, because in the soaking Q2 conditions they had the potential to clinch pole. While Ricciardo got caught between Alonso and Räikkönen on Sunday, Verstappen made fast work of the Haas’. Max then needed just six laps after the safety car period to do the same to the Force India driver before enjoying a lonely run to the podium.
