Following a dismal Q1 showing, Fernando’s final Belgian GP went no further than La Source when Hülkenberg launched him into the air. Ironically, Alonso has never in his 17-year career stood on the top step of the podium at Spa. But at least he didn’t have to suffer the humiliation of tooling around the most spectacular circuit in the world in a car not worthy of his greatness.
