In a race which only lasted 16 laps, it's important to note Gutierrez's qualifying performance on Saturday. By the team's admission, Gutierrez outperformed the car to start 14th while Grosjean dropped out in Q1, and he made a good start to run tenth at the end of the opening lap. His pace faded in the first stint before a brake failure after his first pit stop meant Haas had to retire the car.
