A good qualifying performance secured seventh on the grid but contact with Bottas at the first corner - for which neither driver was penalised - saw Hulkenberg's steering arm break, ending his race. Suggested Vettel was to blame for squeezing him at Turn 1, but Hulkenberg has probably been involved in a few too many first lap incidents this season to be completely blameless each time.
