In the end an underwhelming result, but Ericsson has looked the more likely Sauber driver to score a point for a number of races now. After his first stint showed Sauber did not have the pace to chase a point, the team opted for a one-stop strategy and Ericsson had to complete 39 laps on the medium tyre to get to the end of the race. While he managed that task, running as high as 11th after the VSC period was as good as it got before the tyres degraded and he dropped away late on.
