P8: Pierre Gasly, Red Bull Racing/Toro Rosso 7.26/10 (152.5 in total)
Of the three drivers tied on points, Pierre Gasly comes out on top using our countback system of 'highest score wins' by virtue of the 9.5 he picked up as a result of his superb podium finish in the Brazilian Grand Prix, where the Toro Rosso driver crossed the line just behind his former Red Bull team mate Max Verstappen. It capped a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for Gasly, who had been dropped by the senior team over the summer after failing to deliver consistently enough to satisfy the likes of Helmut Marko and Christian Horner. In fact, looking at the F1i ratings there's really not a great deal of difference between Gasly and his subsequent replacement Alexander Albon over the first half of the season. At the same time, both drivers did improve significantly after their swap during the summer break. While Albon just comes out ahead our ratings it's still Gasly who finishes ahead in the championship standings - and who gets to take home a maiden trophy!
