P17: Lance Stroll, Racing Point: 6.33/10 (133 in total)
It's very tight toward the bottom of the F1i rankings, with just 0.04 points covering the three drivers in P17, P18 and P19. Lance Stroll narrowly comes out on top in that scrap, and it's largely thanks to his terrific season opener in Australia where he finished in the points in ninth place, beating his team mate Sergio Perez and picking up a 9.0 F1i rating along the way. We were all wondering, could we have seriously underestimated the young Canadian? Would this prove to be his year to shine? Unfortunately not, and the rest of the campaign was largely back to business as usual with a season-long issue of painfully poor qualifying consistently holding him back. Despite this, there was one more highlight for Stroll when he claimed a dazzling fourth place in the drizzle of Germany. If only the rest of the season had been anywhere like as good, Stroll would surely have been contending for a much higher place in the standings.
