P16: George Russell, Williams 6.45/10 (135.5 in total)
Sadly, George Russell concluded his maiden season in Formula 1 as the only driver not to score a single championship point all year. That feels deeply unfair as he wiped the floor with his more experienced team mate Robert Kubica all season long, including a 21-0 whitewash in qualifying - even if he never did manage to make it out of Q1 during 2019. He consistently wrung the neck of the woeful FW42 for all it was worth, and the gap between him and the backmarkers in other teams was narrowing toward the end of the year. We're pleased that the F1i ratings redress the points unfairness to a small degree, boosting him to a more respectable 16th place in the ultimate season standings. We can only hope that Williams will provide the promising youngster with a better car for next season that enables him to show what he can really do behind the wheel.
