P6: Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari 7.57/10 (159 in total)
It seems a long time since we last saw the invincible Sebastian Vettel who dominated F1 on his way to four world championships. There were flashes of that brilliance to be found in 2019, but it was far from consistent and at times he looked harried and more than a little fed up by the pressure being exerted by his new team mate Charles Leclerc, who simply wasn't showing anything like the respect and deference Vettel doubtless felt he deserved as team leader. Vettel was also frustrated when Ferrari's pre-season test pace didn't translate into immediate success on the track in the first races of the season, leaving him on the backfoot and under pressure in his faltering title battle with Lewis Hamilton. He came good in Canada with a text book performance only to have victory denied to him by a post-race five second penalty from battling with Hamilton; even so, we gave him 9.5 and driver of the day honours for that performance. That was soon followed by a 9.0 in Singapore when he finally did clinch and keep victory. However his season was blotted by two 5.0s for self-inflicted wounds at Silverstone and Monza, and that doesn't even include the debacle at Brazil in which both Ferraris ended up failing to finish after clashing with five laps to go. Ouch.
