F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2018 Abu Dhabi GP

Sebastian Vettel (P2, 18 pts): 9/10
Ferrari never seemed to have quite the performance they needed in Abu Dhabi to carry the fight to Mercedes, but all the same Sebastian Vettel put everything he had into it. He had a solid start from third place on the grid behind the all-Silver Arrows front row, and picked up a place when Lewis Hamilton made an early stop under a Virtual Safety Car. Vettel wasn't suckered into following suit and kept to his own game plan, which meant he had sightly fresher tyres than Hamilton toward the end of the race. Even so there was nothing he could do about his rival's pace, although he gained some satisfaction by dispatching the struggling Valtteri Bottas for second with 20 laps to go. After that, despite his best efforts Vettel was unable to do anything about Hamilton's margin at the front and he crossed the line in second place to join in the doughnuts on the main straight after the chequered flag, which helped put a smile on his face for the post-race festivities.
