Marcus Ericsson (Retired): 7.5/10
One of a number of drivers taking part in their last Formula 1 race - for the time being at least - Marcus Ericsson had a solid final outing right up to the moment that his car lost power on lap 24. The Swede's markedly improved form over the season is proof both of Sauber's boost in performance since their tie-up with Alfa Romeo, and also that Ericsson himself really is a solid driver deserving much more than the backmarker status he had previously received. He was running a solid race in Abu Dhabi, up from 12th to eighth place and scrapping nicely with Carlos Sainz by the time he was forced to stop. Overall it's a shame that Ericsson has been overshadowed by Charles Leclerc this year, but hopefully he'll make a name for himself Stateside with his switch to IndyCar.
